Softstone resort

The garden pool was my favorite part. I loved sitting in the little pool by the bench and table with morning coffee or an afternoon beer, surrounded by cool water and lush greenery. There are tables outside each room too. This is hardly a five-star resort, but it’s a bit of a gem if you’re after budget-friendly and don’t mind basic. The grounds are clean, the location is great, and the rooms are spacious. The bed is basic, six-inch foam with bedding, and furnishings are simple, with plastic chairs and a rack for clothes. Some people may not like the bed, but I didn’t mind it. Our shower didn’t work properly at first, but the front desk got it fixed straight away. It’s a short scooter ride to Hinagdanan Cave and Alona Beach. Mosa next door is 5+ star, with fantastic food and service. The nearby airport never bothered us, as it wasn’t busy while we were there.

It’s okay for location, with convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and Alona beach is a 20-minute walk. The place seems a little run down but is clean enough, and the beds are comfy. We booked partly because of the pool, which was a disappointment: the water didn’t look very clean, and the whole hotel had just one broken sun lounger. Our room also smelled of cigarette smoke every morning and night. We think it was coming from the neighbors at the rear.

The rooms are cozy and have everything you need, and the staff took good care of us. They’re happy to help arrange excursions and sort out scooters for you too.

The rooms are fine, though damp, and the towels smell like hot dog sausages. They held a Christmas party in the hotel grounds without telling anyone. It went on until the early hours, with screaming and noise all night right outside our room 👎🏻
