Red Planet Ortigas

I needed somewhere to stay late and walked in without a reservation. Red planet was convenient, and the staff, including the security guard, were friendly, approachable, and clear with the information they gave me. The room was decent and clean, with cable TV, cold AC, and a hot shower. The Wi-Fi wasn’t consistent, but it was okay.

The fold-down table is a space-saving idea, but it’s placed right beside the bed, leaving hardly any legroom when you try to use it. They were renovating during my latest visit, so I’m hoping the layout gets updated. I’ve stayed here three times because it’s so accessible to my workplace. The rooms are decent and the staff are friendly. I love that they stop to greet you. My stays have always been great, and I’ll definitely come back.

Manong guard was the one exception, and he gave great service. The rest of the staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming, acting bothered by questions or requests. They were also loud in the hallways and outside rooms at all hours, day and night, so there was no peace or rest. The room was tiny, with no closet or proper storage, so everything had to stay on the floor. The worst part was the bedding. The bed, duvet, and pillows seemed disgusting and unclean, and the linens looked tossed on top of what appeared to be dirty bedding. I couldn’t sleep comfortably because of the hygiene issue. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel and won’t stay again.

The staff and service were great, as were the rooms and location. There are restaurants nearby like Tropical Hut and Wendy's, plus 7-11 and Uncle John's, which are open 24/7. The elevators are a bit old but work fine. The Wi-Fi login is very convenient. A few things to know: the hallway carpets are cleaned with chlorine, and the smell lasts for days. I personally don’t think breathing that in is good for your health. The parking area gets very hot, so don’t leave things there that can’t handle the heat. The TVs in the rooms aren’t smart TVs, so you can’t watch Netflix or cast from your own device. I also couldn’t figure out how to use the Grab promo code. It would’ve helped since I had to take Grab throughout our stay, haha.
