Oriental Sabang Hill Resort

The food tasted good, though it was pricey, probably because they cater more to foreign tourists. Staff were friendly and accommodating, but our bill had errors: after checkout they contacted us about a food charge they had “forgotten” to include, even though we’d checked everything at the front desk before leaving. We were already on our way back to Manila and couldn’t verify the bill, which felt unprofessional. We booked three rooms and got a bit of a room-quality lottery. Two had faulty air conditioning, so we needed electric fans to get through the night. When we raised it, we weren’t reassured that the units were properly maintained. The property is at the far end of Sabang Beach, and reaching it means steep stairs. It’s not suitable for seniors or PWDs, or anyone with mobility issues. It could be okay if you’re not too picky and don’t mind spending a bit more, but I wouldn’t choose it if you need accessible accommodation or consistent rooms and billing.

They might cancel your reservation just a few days before your visit because of overbooking, and their reply is pretty passive. Be cautious when booking if you want to avoid problems with your trip.

It’s a quiet spot except for the noisy air conditioner, and you have to climb about a hundred steps from the seafront promenade to reach your room. Vehicles aren’t allowed on the access route anymore, so you can’t bring your scooter there. The western end of Sabang Bay is nicely landscaped, with a pleasant warm-water pool. The rooms are simple, with hot showers, air conditioning, and a fridge. My bed was too hard, though, and the old compact manual air conditioner was loud and hard to adjust. There’s a bar and restaurant, but prices are a bit high. Staff were courteous and friendly. The Wi-Fi worked well only outside the room.

The pool stays open until 11 at night, and the bar is open 24 hours, though the drinks are limited to beer and whisky. The views from the top and from your room are beautiful. Staff were friendly, and the food was amazing. Come enjoy yourself at sabang hill resort on the island.
