The view is a real knockout, the hotel is perfectly placed, and the pool area looks modern and charming. Staff were polite, attentive, and always ready to help. Dinner was delicious, though a little expensive compared with other local options, and it took a while to arrive. That didn’t bother me much since I’m never in a rush. There are lovely beaches and other attractions nearby, and I did enjoy Villa de Pico overall. The rooms were a big letdown. There’s no A/C, just a struggling fan, and the heat was so bad that guests, including us, slept by the pool to cope. I also saw wiring and fire risks that concerned me as an electrical engineer. The bedding was ripped, and every pillow and the mattress felt rock hard. The room was never made up, there was no cleaning service, barely any running water, and the advertised bidet sprayer was just a bucket and tabo. The listing promised free continental breakfast, but it was pancakes or scrambled egg on toast. I’m not American and didn’t want a sugary breakfast, so I chose the eggs, though I’d have preferred fried. Other made-to-order choices cost extra. That didn’t feel like a continental breakfast. The stairs throughout the hotel are extremely steep. It’s a mountain hotel, and my group and I could manage, but the listing didn’t mention them. Anyone with mobility problems won’t manage, and I was constantly worried my children might fall. A fall could have had a terrible outcome. The Savoy in Manila is more luxurious and cheaper, so next time I’d look elsewhere while hoping to find a place with views as beautiful as these.

The pool is the best part of the resort, and the staff besides the manager tried to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was okay, but the standard rooms were small, dark, and very basic. Hot water often didn’t work. One day a TV crew filming by the pool effectively kept us captive there. They woke us at 6 am, blocked pool access for the entire day, then woke us again at 11 pm for night filming. The resort manager acknowledged my complaint email but never replied. The owner made money from the shoot and from guests, yet refused to compensate paying guests.

Villa de Pico is simple and rustic, but it has what you need. It was clean and quiet, with a great pool and access to a private beach. Ulysses and the staff were friendly and helpful, and the stay was lovely. Good value for the price and budget friendly.

The sea view from the pool goes on and on, and the area is very peaceful. This is the best resort in P Galera. The views are stunning, and the service and staff are fantastic. Special thanks to Jack, who was always helping us and arranged everything, including a Moto rental and sightseeing attractions.

It’s a quiet place away from the busiest part of White Beach, which we appreciated. Our stay was great. If you want some energy in the morning, get up before sunrise, enjoy the cool breeze, and have a cup of coffee. We arrived at night, so the many stairways and raised areas didn’t make much of an impression at first. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was small, but suitable for a couple or a family with a child. If you’re driving, contact the hotel ahead of time to reserve parking because there are only two car spaces. Motorcycles can be parked by the road. It may suit you if you’re looking for a villa within budget and want a feel for the provinces.
