Balayong Pension

Our room faced a busy main road, and the poor insulation let in a lot of noise. The sink was blocked, the key wouldn't fit the door, and water from the shower head sprayed in several directions, making it hard to get under it. The duvet had no cover or flat sheet and smelled strange. Ants were crossing the room too. Avoid unless you want to bring your own sheets, earplugs, and insecticide.

The staff were courteous and helpful. The place is conveniently located for the mall, market, and airport.

For the price, it's good value, and we were happy enough to try extending our stay, but they were full. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the hygiene kit was good, including a decent, soft toothbrush. The receptionist was excellent and very accommodating. Breakfast was good and filling, though basic and not very exciting. Our room faced the road and it was a bit noisy outside. They provide free earplugs, so this seems to be a known issue. There weren't enough power sockets to charge our things properly. The bathroom was fine, and the shower was warm but had weak pressure. The pillow was honestly tiny for one person.

We booked a tour for the next day, and arranging it was quick and easy. Breakfast was enjoyable too. We preordered it, and it always arrived on time. The staff were very helpful during our short trip to Palawan, and the location in Puerto Princess was fabulous, near both the airport and Baywalk, where we could walk around and explore the food stalls. I've seen people mention noise. It can get loud when the place is busy, but I slept through it, as did my partner, who is a light sleeper. For the price, location, and service, I can't complain.
