Eden Travellers Lodge

There was no proper check-in or checkout, and for our whole three-day stay we never saw staff around. We arrived at 6 AM and an elderly woman who had just woken up showed us a dusty room without checking whether it was clean or safe. I was offered two rooms, but it didn't feel like a real choice; I was put in an empty space that seemed more like storage than lodging. The floor was so dirty I wore slippers the whole time and still got filthy feet. Tiles were broken, the sink leaked, there was no shower head, and the TV remote didn't work. Biting insects came in through a gap under the door. It only has a few rooms and feels like a dorm, with confused guests arriving and asking where the owner was. Absolutely not worth it.

I enjoyed both stays here. It's a convenient spot near Rizal Avenue, restaurants, Budget Hardware, and the town centre. The small rooms worked fine for one person or a couple, and the aircon was just right, with a fan too. Showers are cold, but that suited me since the rooms can get hot. I paid P1200 the first night and P1000 on my second visit. There's a drinks fridge by reception with fair prices, and they let me keep some cold goods in it overnight. The staff were kind and stored my shopping boxes somewhere safe. It's a travellers inn, as the name suggests, with rooms that are small but functional.

Their room rate is much cheaper than other hotels in Puerto Princesa, but I wouldn't recommend the place to travelers. I booked through agoda and had already paid, yet on arrival the counter representative wasn't there. The caretaker said the owner was away, and we waited about 30 minutes before being told the rooms were fully booked. There's a gate, and we saw a rat there. No elevator, and the road leading to the place is uneven. Customer service was poor.

We only booked this place for four hours to rest before our flight back to Manila. A tricycle driver from MCA marketplace promised somewhere near the airport with a hot shower and a clean room, but I was so disappointed when we arrived. The room was tiny, there was no hot shower, the CR was disgusting, and although it was for two people they gave us just one towel. People outside were very noisy, with lots of loiterers, and the staff were rude and unaccommodating. Bastos kausap, wala kayong manners. It looks like a very cheap motel. I'll never go back, and I won't trust any local promising a good place to stay. Glad I found it on Google so I could leave the bad review they deserve. DON'T GO HERE.
