Hotel Luna

We liked the hotel so much that we stayed again on our way back to Manila. It has a lovely historic character with modern comforts, and sits near Calle Crisologo, within easy walking distance of many attractions. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the breakfast buffet had lots of choices. We were traveling with seniors, so the elevator, reliable air conditioning, and anti-slip mat in the shower made a real difference to our comfort. Highly recommended for the character, comfort, and service.

Still one of the best hotels in Vigan. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it’s a comfortable place with a nice atmosphere. We always come back. The comfort rooms have hi-tech devices, though they aren’t available in the annex. All the rooms look alike. There was no hot chocolate at breakfast today, but everything else was good. They also listen to feedback.

The breakfast by the pool was great, and we enjoyed the hotel’s cash bar on top of Hotel Luna, a nice spot to hang out at night. Snacks are optional and you may be able to order them too. The food, room, and service were all great. The staff were friendly and polite, and could arrange rides to places or to the bus for a 200 Pesos fee. Make sure your bus leaves before 9 pm, since the service staff change around 10 pm. The Philippines tradition and hospitality were the best.

Breakfast had good coffee and a nice range of food, though there weren’t many vegetarian options. The pool was a welcome extra in the heat, with inviting water at a perfect temperature. The Christmas decorations and decor were outstanding in this lovely renovated old mansion in the heart of Vigan. Even upgraded, our narrow rooms felt crowded with furniture and had nowhere for suitcases. A round table and two chairs, plus a desk and another chair you couldn’t move out of the way, wasted space. The bedding was comfortable, but the mattresses could use replacing. The bell staff were another frustration. They seemed so focused on getting tips that they rushed to take our bags before we were even out of the car. One insisted on walking us to the room while another brought the wheeled luggage they wouldn’t let us carry. It felt chaotic and overwhelming. At Chula bar, we ordered a martini that wasn’t cheap, but it came half alcohol and half vermouth. We had to explain how to make it to five people standing behind the bar. In the end, we just asked for gin with no vermouth. We checked out the roof top bar too, but it didn’t have much atmosphere, so we left. The hotel’s location and sophistication are worth recommending, and the staff are pleasant and well trained.
