Lighthouse Apartment and Guest Inn

I spent a few days in Puerto Princesa and recommend this as budget accommodation. It's close to everything, especially if you rent a motorcycle. The staff are cordial, flexible, and professional.

Victor made sure I was looked after every day, and went out of his way to help me have a good time. He arranged a cave tour, and I rented both a motorbike and a car from him at a very reasonable price, maybe the best in town. He's an honest man who really likes helping his guests. The rooms are lovely and have all the basics you might need, including dish soap, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, and water, plus air conditioning and fans. Power sometimes goes out on the island, but Victor always checked that I was okay when it happened. This is in a perfect location, and it's literally one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed at. Just book it, you won't regret it!

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our host went far beyond what I expected by helping me track down a suit I'd lost on the bus a week before. I'd rate the service even higher if I could!

The family running this place were very nice and helped me book an underground river trip and transport for the next leg of my journey to El Nido. They also rent a couple of good scooters, and I paid 500 pesos a day. Baywalk Park is a short walk away, where local families gather at night. For how inexpensive it is, I'd give it five stars. The place was clean, the air conditioning and hot water worked, and I didn't see any bugs. The bed was firm, like beds elsewhere in SE Asia, but I found it comfortable.
