The internet was the best we've had anywhere in the Philippines, and the old wooden building stayed cool even during the hottest part of the day. It has a lovely shaded garden, too. We liked the old town location, near the cathedral and the public market for fruit and vegetables. The place was so tidy, spacious, calm, and comfortable that we decided to stay more than one night as soon as we arrived. After weeks of bucket showers, it was nice to have a regular shower, though the water was cold. They offer brewed coffee free from 8-10 a.m., and can arrange tours, but we didn't try one. The wooden building looks old and charming, almost historic. Highly recommended!

We had new rooms with five beds in each, plus a big sala outside the two rooms that could fit 10-20 people. There was a fridge, kitchen, kitchen supplies, and purified drinking water. The host was pleasant and helpful. Now and then, though, a pig smell drifted through the air. It's close to the airport, and the three of us paid the tricycle driver P30 each to get there.

The garden and dogs were nice, the staff were friendly, and the place was cheap and in a convenient spot. The bathroom looked quite clean, which was unusual for me in the Philippines. There was a normal shower, but only cold water. The internet was the best we've had in the Philippines so far. We booked a firefly tour there too, and really enjoyed it.

The master room was huge and had three beds, which worked perfectly for seven of us. My friends and I stayed at HG Mission House for four nights in March 2013, and it felt like a home away from home. We bought fresh fish at the market one day and had the house cook it for us. There was also an area for ihaw ihaw, though we didn't have time to use it. The veranda would have been a lovely spot to eat and relax. It's a good place for a large group wanting to stay together. Thanks, Myrna, for all your help.

I was really disappointed with this place. I came to Palawan mainly for El Nido, but bad weather meant I had to stay here for a couple of nights. I booked an underground river tour and met a nice group of Filipino people there. Since I was traveling alone, we kept in touch and planned to go to El Nido together. On my third day I asked the woman at reception to arrange transport. At first she agreed, but about half an hour later she said the weather in El Nido was still very bad and suggested I stay another night, so I did. The next day, my tour friends told me they were already in El Nido and the weather had been perfect for a few days. When I explained what happened, they said I shouldn't trust the woman, as it seemed she was trying to keep me there another night because the place was nearly empty. I asked her again to call transport and she seemed nervous. I really think she was lying from the start to get more money out of me. I wouldn't recommend this place. I couldn't rely on the people working there.
