1888 Staycation Inn by Cocotel

The house still has the feel we love, with comfy sofas, a big dining table, and paintings and artifacts everywhere. It takes me back to the altas de sociedad of the 80s. The caretakers are kind and helped us with kitchen utensils, plates, and our requests. We had a clean towel each, a TV, and AC that worked well. The blankets are thin, but clean. Nearby there’s a local restaurant, a coffee shop, and convenience stores, though breakfast and toiletries aren’t included. This was our second stay, and we like how homey and quiet it feels with so few guests. It isn’t perfectly clean, but it’s fine. I do wish the owners would install locks that can’t be opened from outside without a key. Security matters to me, and we weren’t given our room key on either visit, though I didn’t ask about it. The pool may have had too much chlorine on this visit. After an hour swimming, we got a chlorine rash, and my kids had the strongest skin inflammation. That didn’t happen on our first visit in 2022, so I hope they check it. We still love the place. P/S: The “1888 Staycation” sign is gone, though the place is pinned correctly on Google Map. The gate still has the numbers “1888”.
