The breakfast buffet was generous and had the feel of a true Filipino breakfast. Rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are friendly and courteous. The cheapest room is big enough for a family of 3 or 4, though you do give up some comforts. It’s not too expensive, and I highly recommend Contemporary Hotel to both local and foreign travelers.

The firm mattress wasn’t to my taste, though it worked well for the in-room massages you can request, even late in the evening. The rooms were clean and simple and suited my trip, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, and several restaurants and shops are within walking distance. This hotel should suit business travelers, others who aren’t on a leisure trip, and people traveling on a budget.

I’ve stayed in hotels around the world and have never seen some of these charges. They ask for 500 pesos if you lose a room key, and charge extra for towels, even though they don’t provide daily room cleaning or maintenance. The front desk ladies seemed clueless and stupid. They also wanted another 1000 pesos for a roll in bed when my booking said the room was for 3 guests, and even suggested all three of us share one queen size bed. This hotel will take advantage of its guests. If there were a negative red star, I’d give it. Try not to stay here.

Everyone was courteous and friendly, always smiling. I have a very active 5 year old who ran around, and the staff never seemed annoyed. It really is a kid friendly hotel. We checked in around 9pm and were meant to leave at 12noon the next day, but the pool was being used to shoot a commercial all morning. My kids kept asking about it, so we spoke to the staff. They let us check out at 3pm instead, giving us time to use the pool, and the kids had a great time.

We stayed with our mission trip group. The room was clean and spacious, with a soft bed, hot shower, and strong wifi. The hotel is near the SM mall and many restaurants, so the location is decent. Check-in was messy and slow, and although it was almost 6pm, our room wasn’t ready because housekeeping was still checking rooms. The corridor gets dark at night, perhaps because the hotel is saving energy by dimming the lights. Free breakfast is provided, but the selection is limited and changes each day. Recommended.
