The Oracle Hotel & Residences

The suite itself was fine, and the location is perfect, very accessible and convenient. But the service was frustrating. One room had bad TV reception and faulty air-conditioning. I reported both problems, waited over an hour, and they only acted after I got angry. The assigned managers’ mobile number posted in the room couldn’t be reached either. The telephones weren’t working properly, too. This wasn’t the service I expected.

The hotel was average, but room service let me down. They were out of several basic things, including extra towels and toiletries, which was frustrating and affected my stay. I expected better inventory management and service for a hotel. I hope they improve it.

The concierge was friendly, and the place is close to the university, but I wouldn’t book here. The window AC beside the bed was extremely loud, and even with it off, the neighbors’ AC could still be heard. The bed felt as hard as cardboard, the walls were peeling and moldy, and the room was dark. They also called at 5am. I usually don’t leave reviews, but the bad reviews are true. I can’t see how this place gets more than one star.

The staff were friendly, the place is small but nice, and the food was delicious during our three-day stay. The function room was nice too, though it got really hot even with our small group. In my room the hot water didn’t work, and the coffee table thermos plug didn’t fit any socket. Guest service didn’t answer at 5:30 to 6am despite my five calls. If that had been an emergency, a guest could have died, right? 🙄
