Wesfame Suites

We stayed for a week while I recovered from surgery, and the personnel were very accommodating and polite. The rate through Agoda was very affordable. I also appreciated the safety details in the room: a fire extinguisher, sprinkler, covered electrical sockets, and plastic covers on unused outlets. It was PWD friendly, and complimentary water was provided. The location worked well for us, near hospitals and QC City Hall. There was ample parking down to the 3rd or 4th basement floor. The room was clean when we arrived, and the bathroom had no bad smell. Hot water worked at all the faucets. We liked the wide windows and plenty of storage cabinets. There was a kitchen counter with a water pot heater, and we could request a microwave. It also had a small refrigerator and a TV for the kids. Noise from outside was tolerable, though some mornings we heard sirens, possibly because of QC City Hall or an event or parade. We didn’t hear noise from neighboring rooms. A few things could be better. The air conditioner felt small for the room and took about an hour to cool it. The cold air didn’t spread evenly, so we tried moving the bed. After we asked housekeeping to clean the next day, the floor cleaner left a stinking smell. Some wall paint was peeling from moisture, and a few nails stuck out from the bathroom doors. They still use old-fashioned keys. Netflix only works on a few devices, so if several people are using it, you may have to wait or use YT. The Wi-Fi could also improve. There’s plenty of food nearby, including fast food and restaurants, which suited me as a foodie. Traffic is the drawback, though being near QC circle makes that understandable. Our booking through an app was easy, and the front desk greeted us with a smile. Free underground parking was a big plus, since we could get to the car without worrying about heavy rain. Our two-single-bed room was spacious and clean, which was the first thing I checked after seeing some negative comments. We were on an upper floor, but outside noise was still loud. We were tired, so we managed to sleep “soundly” 😅.

We spent 13 nights here while in the Philippines. The location is great for getting Grab, there are lots of restaurant choices, and the reception team and guards were friendly and helpful. The unit is very spacious, the internet is great, and it’s good value for the money, as long as you know you’re getting a lot of space with few amenities. Cleanliness and supplies were disappointing. We didn’t expect luxury toiletries, but proper hand wash, soap, and shampoo should be provided. The soap in unlabelled bottles looked used and unsanitary, so we got our own. We chose this hotel or serviced apartment expecting daily housekeeping instead of an Airbnb setup, but we had to ask for cleaning. Each time, we had to leave the key or leave the unit. Some days housekeeping waited for us to go out, so we ended up going somewhere to eat just to get the place cleaned. On our last night, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, the unit hadn’t been cleaned for two or three days. We requested housekeeping while we were celebrating away from the unit, so they had all afternoon, but they were short staffed and didn’t get to it. They said we’d be a priority on the next shift, but it wasn’t cleaned until after lunch. Worse, the sheets and towels smelled funky, like soggy wet socks that had dried. I first thought it was the floor or a dirty mop, then realized it was the linens. I didn’t ask for a change since we were checking out at midnight. I told the front staff, who apologized, but it was a disgusting and disappointing last memory of the hotel. They do provide towel changes, toilet paper, paper towels, and bottled water on request, which I appreciated. There’s no hair dryer in the room, so guests have to take turns borrowing one. There’s no free-to-air TV, so you need your own Netflix account. The only TV is small for such a large living room. We had just four flat, uncomfortable pillows for two bedrooms with two queen beds.

Wesfame Suite is easy to find on Kalayaan-Matalino Road, across from KFC, and has ample parking for customers and guests. The lobby is small but accessible for people coming and going. There’s a UCC cafe, Mien-San Restaurant, and Josi Mendez Salon next to it. The rooms are good, with enough space for couples or a family of four, and the staff service was good. I’d recommend it to budget travelers looking for an affordable hotel in the QC area. Hope this helps 🐾
