We came for the quiet and found this hotel beautifully relaxing. It’s away from Moalboal’s hustle, and after staying in town before, we’d say it’s worth hiring a car or bike to stay here instead. The snorkelling was nice too.

Maison Ulysse is the one I’d pick. It’s a bamboo cottage with rooms upstairs and a cabana downstairs, facing the ocean. There are several room styles, and the setting and staff are both lovely. A great place to simply do nothing.

The staff were so accommodating, and getting a massage was easy: book through reception and they come to your unit. The resort can also arrange transport and activities. We chose this over a hotel in the city, which worked out well since the activities are nearby and we didn’t have to wake up early for the three-hour trip from the city. We had a great stay.

8/10. The food was very good and clean, and the staff were helpful and super nice, especially Chilly. The pool is small but usable and clean. There are also two older dogs who live on site and wander around. When we visited, the beach water was muddy and not very appealing. This is a place to relax and do nothing for a day. There’s basically nothing nearby, and I wouldn’t come here looking for activities. We had a bungalow without AC or windows, which we hadn’t expected since we assumed all hotels had AC. A few little creatures got into the room, though nothing harmful, just annoying. The fans kept it cool, and with them turned up, the insects didn’t bother us much.
