The room was dusty, had cockroaches, and didn’t have enough ventilation. We couldn’t open the curtains or doors because so many flies and mosquitoes would come in. I enjoyed Sagada, but the accommodation was disappointing. The place needs maintenance, and the staff need more training in cleanliness and customer service.

The karaoke continued past 10:00pm and disturbed the quiet. Several people in our group also saw some male staff who seemed to be off duty taking part while visibly intoxicated. That felt inappropriate on the property and raised concerns about management oversight. We had other problems during our stay. Around 6:30am on our second day, we went for the complimentary coffee but couldn’t find any cups. The drawer beneath the station, where the cup and utensil tray is usually kept, was full of rubbish, including cockroach droppings, and smelled foul. It made us question the cleanliness of the place. We rang the bell several times to report it to a male staff member, but nobody came to help. We also found the male staff’s manner unprofessional and discourteous, which left us feeling ignored. We had chosen the hotel hoping for a relaxing, comfortable stay, but these issues affected our experience considerably. I hope the owner addresses them and improves the cleanliness and service standards.

The toilet was dirty, and the place seemed old and not well maintained. We came to Sagada with our family looking forward to staying here, but we were disappointed and ended up giving up our booking.

The power kept going out, which made an already uncomfortable stop even harder. Maybe brownouts are common in the area, but they added to the trouble. The next morning, when we left our hut, there were dead goats right outside. The smell was awful, and flies swarmed around while we tried to eat brunch. I don’t know why the carcasses were there, but it felt disturbing and unhygienic, and we lost our appetite. Getting there was frustrating too. We got a little lost and called for directions, but the staff on the phone were confusing and dismissive. When we arrived, nobody was at the front. After we waited, someone appeared, opened the door, then walked away without welcoming or helping us. We were tired from the long drive and felt like an afterthought. The place came across as neglected and poorly managed. We were glad it was only a stopover, and wouldn’t recommend it unless major changes are made.

The afternoon mist was amazing, and the atmosphere around this traditional hut is lovely. It’s a bit out from the town center, so having your own transport is best. Bring a hammock and string it up under the hut. The bathrooms are outside, but good. There are bidets, and the water heater works, though the pressure is quite weak. They offer really good Sagada coffee for free. Art, the inn manager, was very helpful.
