Discovery Samal

I tried a day pass at Discovery Samal this Saturday and had a fantastic time. It exceeded my expectations, despite some negative comments I'd seen. Food and service were both a solid 5/5, and the staff were warm and attentive, making the visit feel worth it. Big thanks to the Haribar team, especially Ate Daneth for the best service, along with Kuya Jun, Apple, Kuya Kurt and Maureen. Apple and Kuya Kurt were very attentive, too. They made the day even more enjoyable! 🙂

Discovery Samal gave us such a fun stay, and I'm still thinking about it 😍✨. The room was comfy, clean and aesthetic, with a dreamy feel and 9/10 relaxing vibes. The food was full of flavor and felt luxurious. The staff's care really made the experience. Shoutout to the intern CLAIRE 🫶, who was so warm, kind and helpful to everyone, always smiling and making sure we were comfortable. She handled things with grace and was so accommodating. Top-tier experience, no notes. I'll definitely come back and recommend Discovery Samal to everyone.

Angie/Angelie and Jazz looked after us with so much care and professionalism. Angeli also showed us around the resort, which helped us appreciate it even more. Everyone we met was friendly, and the facilities, food and drinks were great. We felt valued throughout. We celebrated our anniversary here last April 12. The room was beautiful and had a breathtaking view, and the complimentary treats and romantic anniversary setup made the occasion feel special. From arrival, the hospitality was warm and genuine. The service felt 5-star, and every detail seemed thoughtfully arranged. The brownies and revel bars were honestly the best we've ever tasted. We loved them so much that we're hoping we can buy some. We're very happy with the stay, and this place will always mean a lot to us. We'll definitely return, and hope we can celebrate our wedding here someday. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

After my first review, the Discovery Samal management team made a significant effort to address our concerns. They promptly made changes for the rest of our stay, and we were able to enjoy the experience. Ms. Ghelai, the Resort Manager, deserves special recognition for her hands-on response and for turning things around. I'm upgrading my rating because of the improvements and service recovery, though some operations still need refinement. The main problem was how long check-in took. We booked an early flight from Manila to make the most of our resort time, but even though we arrived early, we couldn't check in until past 4:00 PM. I appreciate the staff's apologies, but they didn't make up for the time we lost. The rules are enforced strictly when guests go beyond their allotted time, yet when the resort causes a delay, an apology is all guests receive. Lost time can't be recovered. A five-star property should show more operational efficiency and consideration for guests, and this points to processes that need improvement.
