The gallery has some interesting artwork, and you can watch the art students at work. I also liked the main building and garden, and the beach is about a 15-minute walk away. Still, I expected more artistic decor in the room since Casa San Miguel is an art school with a bed and breakfast. The floor, kettle, and air humidifier were dirty, though staff cleaned them when I asked. The shower pressure was very weak, so I had to ask for a pail and dipper.

The artworks are worth a look, and we were given a tour even though we ended up staying somewhere else nearby. There had been a small issue with our online booking at Casa San Miguel, but the staff handled it professionally and communicated well while arranging the transfer. William, who showed us around, and everyone at reception and Cafe Virtuosi were friendly and helpful. The place is beautiful, and we enjoyed the breakfast.

A good spot for getting away from city noise, with clean, spacious rooms and plenty of trees around it. The public beach is only a few minutes away on foot. There’s also a museum and restaurant on site, and the entrance has a lovely mosaic. The front desk can arrange a boat trip to Anawangin.

I wouldn’t choose this for a holiday stay, though nearby beach resorts are an option. It feels more suited to a two-day course or a meeting, and you can also come for lunch or dinner. The garden is nice, but there’s no swimming pool yet, rooms need to be reserved, and some construction was going on. The owner is a famous violinist.

The pork ribs were especially good, and the meals come in generous portions. It’s a comfy, peaceful place surrounded by trees, with beautiful spots everywhere you look. A lovely place to relax and have fun, especially for artists and history buffs.
