The owner makes you feel right at home, and the Australian management is warm and welcoming. There's a huge bathroom in the room, plus a refreshing pool and a billiards table.

The food is tasty, freshly made, and filling, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I love how relaxed and welcoming the place feels. Every time I visit, it feels like a little escape with good food.

I did manage to find a clean room and enjoy my time in Siquijor after changing plans. Travel has its ups and downs, and I can adapt. Still, I saw a recent negative review and was glad I hadn't stayed here. Buyer beware, look up all the reviews you can or investigate some other way. Becano staff offered only a refund when my reservation was cancelled a few hours before I was due to arrive in Siquijor. They didn't help me find comparable accommodation. They said they'd tried calling several times through booking.com, but the number wasn't one I recognized. I booked through Agoda, and the cancellation email from the resort also came through Agoda, so that claim made the whole thing even more frustrating. It felt suspicious and shady, with poor business practices and no acceptance of responsibility. The reason given was that something unforeseen had happened to the room. I'd travelled a long way, planned for weeks, and was looking forward to visiting Siquijor, so the sudden cancellation threw everything off. I asked how they decide whose booking gets cancelled in situations like this and got no answer.

The room itself was fine, and the location is perfect if you have a scooter. The pool, though, was really dirty, and our room's door was partly broken and wouldn't lock. During our four nights there, we got no fresh toilet paper or towels until we asked after three days, and the bed wasn't changed at all, which I thought a resort would do. When we arrived, they didn't ask for our names or passports, just said they were checking whether a room was available. Their English was hard to understand, so we didn't realize breakfast was included and paid for it elsewhere for four days. They only mentioned it on our last day.
