Infinity Sands Resort

We liked the staff a lot. They were genuinely friendly and helpful, and could arrange a transfer in their own vehicle or get a tuk-tuk for us. The on-site restaurant has a good range of breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices. We had breakfast and lunch there, and the food was good. We stayed three nights in a clean, spacious, comfortable room. The location worked really well: it’s quiet, but restaurants, bars, an ATM, the beach, laundry, and massage places are all an easy walk away. There’s a bar right next to the resort with live music in the evening, but it stops around 11 PM, so noise wasn’t a concern. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend the resort.

The manager was rude and dismissive, though the staff were nice. They seemed afraid of her, and I saw her yell at them. The beach wasn’t well maintained and wasn’t suitable for swimming. The pool is wedged between two walls. Our room was next to the road, so traffic woke me very early, and rooms are beside a bar where live music goes on until late. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. The air conditioner had a lot of mould, which made me cough and made it hard to breathe, so I couldn’t use it. I had a sad, very uncomfortable experience. When I told staff about the mould, the manager came from her home at 22:00 with three people to inspect whether I was telling the truth. I asked to do it in the morning, but she said no. Once they saw the mould, they insisted it wasn’t bad for you and said all their air conditioners have this, so be warned. In our exchange I also noticed them lying and twisting things while we talked. I was polite and only wanted a fair solution. I’d noticed a pattern in their replies to bad reviews, which felt uncomfortable. After their response to me, I want to clarify that I never said I’d leave a bad review if I wasn’t compensated. I’d never do that, and I rarely leave bad reviews in the first place. I also never asked to cancel. Based on other reviews, it seems they respond to complaints with lying and defensiveness, the same behavior I experienced at the resort. You can do much better for your money. Go to La Candura, thank me later.

The rooms were spotless, from the beds and fresh linens to the housekeeping. Hot water, Wi-Fi, and everything else we needed worked without a problem. Debbie and the management kept things running smoothly, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Even little touches stood out, like pink Himalayan salt and whole peppercorns on the tables. Highly recommended.

San Juan is a great place, and Siquijor is well worth visiting. The spot is good, with a nice bar and food next door at baha bar. It's within walking distance if you're looking to get wrecked. Starlink internet works great too.
