Nakabalo Guesthouse & Restaurant

The sea views and sunsets from the pool at Nakabalo Guest House Restaurant made this feel like a little paradise. I stayed on Siquijor Island from January 21 to 24 and loved it. The staff were incredibly kind, and the rooms were clean, tidied every day, and well maintained. They can arrange a convenient port transfer, and motorcycles and scooters are available to rent at the guest house. It's close to the main attractions but just outside the tourist crowds, which made it a good place to relax. I left a piece of my heart there and can't wait to return. Highly recommended for a memorable stay in Siquijor.

We couldn't reach the island because of a typhoon, but the resort still charged us the full amount. The Bruce Resort had the same kind of reservation and refunded us that afternoon, no questions asked, even though we couldn't stay there either. That difference says a lot about Nakabalo's attitude. They stuck to the bare minimum of the agreement and showed no care or understanding for the customer experience. It feels like they target shabby customers. People deserve better. Be warned.

What made my 10 nights at Nakabalo Guesthouse so memorable was the team. Mark, Louella, Melanie, Leah, Rogie, Leonessa, Marilou, and Ronald were warm and thoughtful every day, from arranging transport and suggesting places to preparing good meals or just greeting me with a smile. Thea and Jimmy, their two golden retrievers, were lovely company too. My Deluxe Bungalow was spacious, spotless, and carefully put together. The property is lush and peaceful, and waking up to birds and a breeze from the jungle was lovely. It’s close to San Juan’s restaurants, bars, and beaches, but still feels tucked away from the crowds. Great food, views, and a calm atmosphere made it easy to relax and feel connected to the place. I felt at home from the moment I arrived. This was one of my best travel experiences, and I can’t wait to return with my partner. 💚

The sunset view alone made Nakabalo worth a stay. We arrived just before it, and there are plenty of places to watch, including the pool, restaurant, and decking. The view is mind-blowing. We stayed one night in January 2026. Our room was a good size and had a nice indoor-outdoor feel. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, especially the generously sized pizzas. Breakfast the next morning was included. It’s a little outside town, but with food available at the resort, that wasn’t much of an issue.
