Stellaz Guesthouse

It was calm in the evenings, which suited me, though this isn't the most social hostel. The location is handy, near dive centers, especially the reef turtle dive center, and just a few minutes on foot from several cafes and restaurants. The staff were friendly and very attentive, and the dorm was cleaned every day. It was clean and small, with a maximum of 8 people, curtains on the beds, lockers, AC, and a hot shower. At 450P per night, the price is more than reasonable for the quality. I highly recommend Stella’s guesthouse.

The room even has a locker and key for personal things, and the reception staff made me feel comfortable about everything. What stood out most was how clean and tidy the shared dorm and its attached toilet were. The floor didn't have the sand or damp footprints that are so common in other hostels, and there was no wet-air smell. After a full day of wet activities, having a dry room to rest in felt so good. I really appreciate the effort they put into keeping the room and toilet hygienic. It's one of the better hostels I've stayed at, along with Laguno Hostel @ Moalboal. I'm glad I changed my booking. I'd viewed Czars first, and the rooms and surroundings were horrifying 🤮.

The location was great, just a few steps from the beach, where we watched beautiful sunsets. We stayed four nights, and the rooms were spacious. The only drawback was a bad smell from the bathroom drain while showering, though that's apparently something they can't fix. I'd recommend it!

We rented bikes from Stella’z guest house, and it was a bad experience. They were old and poorly maintained, with dim lights and other problems that made them unsafe. We paid upfront for 4 days, returned them early because of safety concerns, and weren't given any partial refund. I wouldn't recommend it.
