Villas Buenavista

The beachfront location gives the hotel a wonderful view, and the pool area was clean with a spacious driveway. But the facilities need work. From the outside it looks good, yet the rooms show signs of poor maintenance. The shower wasn’t hot, the pressure was weak, and getting online was difficult. The shower area isn’t PWD or senior friendly because the bathtub is too high and you have to climb in. There was only limited food in the restaurant, though they did allow us to bring food from outside. Hopefully they keep up with regular maintenance, since the inside doesn’t match the appealing exterior.

There’s a lot of potential here, but it seems mismanaged and needs investment. The buildings look nice and solid, and there are restaurants and a 711 just a short walk away. We stayed one night in a Villa, and I’d have been unhappy staying longer at these rates. The futon-style couch was thin and uncomfortable, the fridge door wouldn’t close, and there were no bath towels. The soap containers were empty, though there was bar soap in the toiletry kit. There was nowhere to put things in the shower, and the kitchen had basics but no towels or dishsoap. Upstairs, the bedroom had a nice wardrobe and plugs by the bed, but no bedside tables. The AC worked well. The longer the bathroom water ran, the more off gas came out. I also disliked the Villa stairs. For one night, we could’ve taken the superior room. The pool photos don’t match the furniture there. The area has potential, but needs some TLC, weeding and sweeping, new Loungers, and better staging. Some potted plants around the property do look nice.

I was there on a business stay, and the gloomy rooms and poor upkeep made it hard to sleep. The bathroom looked creepy, and the window wouldn’t secure because its handle was broken. Breakfast was good, but the utensils and plates didn’t seem to be cleaned properly. Sogo hotel is cheaper, cleaner, and has a better ambiance.

It didn’t look like the advertising. During our November off-season visit, the place felt like a ghost town. There was no reception, just guards to meet us, and no restaurant. A few friendly roaches showed up too.
