Kakay Beach Resort

They charged my card without my consent. I booked through booking.com with free cancellation up to 48 hours before arrival and chose to pay when I arrived, so I didn't expect any charge beforehand. Just a couple of hours after the booking confirmation, they took 100Php as a so-called “deposit” without asking. Neither the property's description nor booking.com mentioned an unauthorized deposit. It's not a large amount, but it makes me worry what else they might do with my card without permission. When I messaged them about it, they kept sending automated replies instead of dealing with the issue. I'm very disappointed and wouldn't recommend booking here.

We stayed here during an event. It's a nice place close to the beach, with a bed for two, a spacious shared area for cooking and eating your own food, and lots of sari sari stores nearby. The TV and aircon worked fine, and the CR was okay. Some room locks are in such bad shape that the doors are hard to open, but you can ask them for help. There were no towels or toiletries like soap and shampoo, so bring your own. The rooms muffle outside noise a bit, but videoke plays loudly 24/7, so light sleepers probably won't like it. If you're okay with the price, room, and noise, go for it.

We thought the pool in the photos was large, but it turned out to be just a kiddie pool, and there wasn't any food available. The map location on both Google and Waze was wrong. We drove around the area twice before realizing there was no resort at the pin. The staff already knew about the problem, but hadn't corrected the listing or messaged or called me. It was our first time driving there, so getting the location right really matters.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the beach is an easy walk away. It was affordable, clean, and quiet, everything I wanted for an overnight stay in Zambales. I'll come back.
