Fleur de Liz Inn

It’s hugely improved from when I stayed here 11 years ago. Everything was clean and working this time, and there’s a pool too. Under P1,000 a night. Perfect.

It’s a peaceful spot, and you can walk to the commercial center, with different shops and a restaurant nearby. There’s also a very old church worth visiting, part of our history. The inn is close to the airport. A multicab ride costs at most PHP40. My single room was Php750, with AC, an 11-inch flat TV, and a chair that I guess is where you put your luggage. The room is really small, so it wasn’t all that comfortable. The bathroom has a sink and hot and cold shower. They show you to your room when you arrive, and breakfast is included: rice, an egg, two pieces of ham, and a banana. You can also make coffee or Milo.

The staff are very accommodating, and the place is clean and close to Iloilo aiport. The downside is the distance from the town proper. Cabbies usually ask for a fixed fare instead of using the meter.
