Amihan Beach Cabanas Resort

The breakfast was scrumptious, and the staff were friendly. Outside the room, the Family Cabana’s prime location was its main saving grace. But given how the resort presents itself next to its neighbors, the place felt pretty mediocre. We could hear the next-door guests while showering because the nipa cabana has no soundproofing and sits right beside another resort. The shower barely ran, more like a weak faucet, and the bathroom door was so short it offered almost no privacy. I understand the design idea, but the door could easily have been longer. There were termite droppings by the bathroom mirror. The bedroom walls beside the bunk bed had graffiti, and termite droppings sometimes fell onto the lower bunk from the area where you can see the mattress above. The floor under the bunk was full of dust and dirt, so it seemed like the room hadn’t had a proper deep clean in a while, or at least not the level you’d expect at a hotel. We could also hear rats squeaking at night, which may be outside their control, but the lack of soundproofing made it hard to ignore. If there’s another option, I’d book elsewhere. Otherwise, avoid the Family Cabana.

We only stopped in for breakfast at the beach restaurant, not to stay in the rooms. It was a lovely, relaxing place for a quiet morning by the sea, very clean and nice-looking. The food was well prepared and really good, and the service was friendly and attentive. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality, atmosphere, and customer service made it feel worth it. I’d recommend it for a cozy beachside breakfast. 🌊

The cabana view was a highlight, absolutely stunning to wake up to, even though the weather was hit or miss. Every meal we ate at the resort was fresh and tasty, and the included breakfast was delicious. The whole place has a peaceful, quiet feel. We had a couple of minor issues at the start, but management and the front desk handled them quickly and with real care. They also gave us complimentary use of their kayaks and paddleboards as a goodwill gesture. Big thanks to Herman and Jaz for working so hard to make our stay great, and to Jasper at the restaurant for his humor and wonderful personality. Renovations are underway, but the workers were respectful and never disturbed us. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished results. The hospitality was world-class, and our stay at Amihan Beach Cabanas was incredible.

The ocean view and beach were spectacular, but the villa stay was a major disappointment for the price. The biggest problem was the private pool. Its chlorine or treatment levels seemed excessive, and after swimming, both of us and our visitors had severe skin reactions and our clothes were completely discolored. It had a big effect on our comfort. Loud music from the neighboring resort continued past 11 PM. Between that and the skin irritation, we had a very poor night’s sleep, which was especially frustrating with a 15-hour flight the next day. There were other problems too. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all, the only live TV channels were local Filipino ones, dirty dishes were left on our patio table overnight even though we’d been told they’d be cleared, and the room lights couldn’t be turned off. Management didn’t respond in a meaningful way. We raised these issues and were asked to stay past checkout to meet with them, but nobody showed up. We got no real resolution or compensation. They offered dinner on our departure day, but we couldn’t use it. Given the price and advertised standards, we expected much better service, accountability, and care. It was a very frustrating stay.
