Beach Placid Resort

It isn’t luxurious, but it’s a very nice and affordable place to stay, without doubt one of the best value resorts on Bantayan. The views and location are fantastic. The clean beach has lovely white sand, and watching the morning sunrise from this spot feels priceless. If you want to explore Bantayan Island, this is a great starting point. You can rent a motorbike, eat at the restaurant, or prepare your own food. They also have Starlink internet, which keeps working if the national cellphone system goes down, and a generator for the frequent island brownouts. For me, Placid is easily the best overall option in Santa Fe, Bantayan Island.

The service we got didn’t match what we paid or expected. The TV didn’t work, and the bedding was very dirty, especially the pillowcases. The worst issue was that there wasn’t a 24-hour front office. We expected someone to inspect the room when we checked out, but there was no staff member available around 7:20 a.m. The shuttle service instructions were unclear too.

Ants will get into your food, and the front desk isn’t staffed around the clock, even though there seem to be plenty of staff. The main reason to stay is how close it is to the beachfront. Our Double Room was horrible: the toilet barely worked, and the AC was so loud it shook the whole wall. There were only two outlets, both far from the bed, the Wi-Fi barely worked, and the door was difficult to close because it wasn’t flush. Even the lights weren’t bright. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

There were bugs in the room, a cockroach or worm. The only free thing was toilet paper, so we had to manage on our own, and there wasn’t even a cup in the room. The towels were awful and couldn’t even dry our hair. The price wasn’t reasonable. If I could give zero stars, I would. I wouldn’t recommend it even to my worst enemies.
