It was raining into our room during the storms. We used buckets from the toilet and trash can to catch the drips, and towels to soak up water on the floor. The room didn’t have a shower, even though one was shown in the booking, and the bathroom was just a private toilet that made the whole room smell like a truck stop restroom. I guess the towels were meant for the beach. The bathroom smell wasn’t mentioned, of course. We were given a key, but the room didn’t even lock. The property is tucked away, though, and I didn’t feel unsafe. The family was very nice, but we were basically camping. Their children scream-sang pop songs until 1 in the morning, which might be your thing, but with everything else it made sleeping miserable. Our original stay fell through, and this place was available last minute. I should’ve just cut this part of my trip altogether. For reference, I’ve been backpacking around SE Asia for three months, have pretty low standards, and have stayed in some rough places.

The staff were helpful and accommodating with everything we needed, and their hospitality made the stay better. It’s an affordable, convenient place with easy access to the front beach, Hungry Beach Co, and the town plaza. A good choice for budget travelers who still want comfort and a handy location.

The owner was a big help when we ran into a problem with our Agoda cancellation booking. Our first room was already fully booked, so she arranged another one with the same amenities. She made sure everything was sorted before we booked our ticket to Bantayan. We had a great stay at Hibiscus Dive Inn. The room was clean and fresh, and the location is handy for the beach, Kota Beach, and MJ Square. Gastropub is nearby too if you want to go out at night. Overall, a 10/10 experience.

For a budget-friendly room, my friends and I give Hibiscus 5/5. It’s close to the busy area and just a 3-5 minute walk to Kota beach. The staff were friendly, and they have motorbike rentals. They’re also associated with freediving and scuba diving courses, with a discount if you’re staying at Hibiscus. Loved every stay!
