Myrna's Pension House by OYO Rooms

We booked two rooms for Nov 10-12 and had a really pleasant stay. They were clean and simple, and the air conditioning worked well. Each room had a private bathroom, two bath towels, mugs, plates and utensils, an electric kettle, TV, table, and two chairs. You can cook there too. Ms. Myrna welcomed us when we arrived and was very accommodating. It's a nice, affordable option, and I'd recommend it. The location was handy, with a grocery, market, beach, bars, and restaurants nearby. Tricycles are close by too, so getting around isn't a worry.

We planned on five nights and stayed nine. The owners were lovely and always willing to help, and arranging everything with them through WhatsApp was easy. The room felt thoughtfully put together, with a comfortable bed, clean sheets, good space, new AC, a large smart TV, and a table with two benches for eating or working. There was also a kettle and dishes. The shower and toilet share the same space, which is normal in the country, though the shower pressure could be better. It's close to restaurants, markets, a bakery, and motorbike rentals. The beach is nearby, though we'd suggest walking 1.5km to the left toward one of the Philippines' best beaches near the port. They rent motorbikes, provide refill water, and have a small kitchen for cooking. Hangers for drying clothes inside or outside were handy, and you can request room cleaning. Internet only worked outside our room. They have two locations about a minute's walk apart. We saw comments about the Google Maps location, but it worked fine for us. We enjoyed every moment and highly recommend it.

The rooms are amazing. Myrna and her sister are very caring, friendly, and looked after me like family when I got sick during my stay. The map location had been wrong, as others have mentioned. I corrected it, and hopefully it stays that way. They actually have two guesthouses, just 50 meters apart.

I've stayed at Myrna's three times over the past three years, and it's my go-to place. There are two properties, one on A. Coyoca St. (main) and the other on C. Batiancilla St., one block away. I've stayed at both, and the comfort and experience were equally good. The location is handy for restaurants, stores, a pharmacy, church, and beach, all about a block away. The owner and staff are welcoming and, in my experience, more hospitable than at hotels and expensive accommodations. The building is fairly new, bright and clean, with high ceilings. The inverter AC is powerful. Wifi, a smart TV for streaming, and some cable channels are available. The shower water isn't salty like at some nearby places, and the pressure is good on the first and second floors. One of the properties has a shared kitchen, and all rooms have dining utensils and a water heater. I highly recommend it.
