The room looked modern and was clean, but didn’t offer much comfort. There was only one thin sheet on the bed, and it wouldn’t stay put overnight. We asked for a blanket and were told they’d all been given to guests in another room. If several rooms need blankets, they should have enough for every bed. There’s no guest fridge or freezer. If you have medication that needs to stay cold, the only option is the fridge in the house, which you can’t access whenever you need it. The WiFi was almost unusable, with the signal repeatedly dropping even when it wasn’t raining. I’ve worked in IT for over 40 years as a network specialist. The access point was by the bar near the owner’s house, rather than centrally placed near the guest rooms, which could have solved the problem. The room was the sparsest I’ve stayed in. No bathrobes, coffee pot, hair dryer, or soap and shampoo dispensers in the shower, and we had two bath towels but no hand towels or washcloths. We could manage without those things, but don’t expect much comfort. Food and drinks aren’t allowed in the rooms, so you can’t bring dinner leftovers back. You have to pay before seeing the room, with no refund if you cancel or leave before the booked period is over. The welcome email spent most of its time on this, apparently because people often shorten or cancel their stays after arrival. We booked another place down the road for $38 a night U.S. It was a full apartment with a kitchen, dining room, living room, spacious bedroom, thick duvet, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, and plenty of towels. It was very comfortable, and we even had pizza delivered. We forfeited about nine days we’d paid for at paradise beach, but it was worth it to enjoy our time on the island. The best part of our two days at paradise beach, out of the 11 we’d booked, was the owner, a super nice guy who tried to make things good for guests. If they put some time and money into the rooms, even just keeping a blanket for every bed, I’m sure future guests will have a better stay.

We spent five days and four nights here in July as a group of 10 and had a wonderful time. The owners were warm and very accommodating, and Darren shared useful information about the area that made everything easier. The rooms were spotless with beautiful interiors, and it was only a few minutes from my favorite beach on the island. They rent scooters and can arrange tricycle pickups. Free breakfast is included too. Highly recommend it for a Bantayan stay ☺️

We only planned to stay a few nights, but ended up extending because it felt so much like home. Darren and his wife were warm and helpful throughout our almost-week-long visit, quick to answer questions and ready whenever we ordered food. Darren shared a map and tips on where to go, where to find affordable souvenirs, and when to visit different spots. Renting a scooter there made getting around the island easy and inexpensive, and he even drove us back to the port on our last day. We’d happily stay here again on another trip to Bantayan. The price aside, this was the best guest house, and we highly recommend it. ☺️❤️

Darren knows what travelers need, and his personal attention is what made this place stand out. He’s traveled widely and clearly understands how to make a stay memorable. The location is great, and his advice for people just arriving is especially useful, so listen closely. I travel a lot, and this is one of those rare places that exceeded expectations in ways I hadn’t even thought to look for. One of the best stays I’ve had, easily. Highly recommend!

We stayed two nights with our family of six adults and one child in the family/barkada room. Booking was easy, and the staff were responsive and helpful. There was a leak under the room’s sink, but the staff member fixed it right away and offered to move us into two rooms. We stayed put since the pipe was repaired promptly. The room was roomy, and I liked having a kitchen indoors. Cooking seafood wasn’t allowed inside, which was inconvenient with the rain during our visit. We also had to wash the water dispenser before using it, and clean the dishes again because the plate rack smelled. The place is far from the market, public beach, and MJ square, though having our car made that less of an issue.
