Marius B&B and Hostel

The room was old and dirty, and there were lots of mosquitoes. I’d booked and paid in advance for four nights, but when I arrived it felt like I’d walked into a nightmare. I asked reception how to deal with them, and they gave me an electric zapper. I tried killing them myself for about 10 minutes, then went out to buy mosquito spray. It was 11 pm, and I’d just come from a long flight from Australia. I sprayed the room and went back to reception to wait for it to work. I was exhausted, so after 10 minutes I went in to rest, but the mosquitoes were still there, all over my bed. I told reception I was cancelling and finding somewhere else. That night I messaged the owner of Marius hostel to cancel and asked for a refund for the remaining three days. The next day, when I called the owner of Marius hostel, they were rude and said I couldn’t get a refund because leaving was my fault. I stopped arguing because there was no point and I didn’t want to ruin my vacation. I’m writing this so people know about my experience. Don’t book this place in advance, and don’t believe their social media posts. I’ve heard other clients cancelled for the same reason. I hope a sanitation or other government agency checks the place. If anyone else has had this happen at Marius B and B and Hostel, please speak up so it doesn’t happen to someone else.
