Crystal Cove

Getting there is easy: the roads all the way to the resort entrance are paved in neat concrete, and the location is accessible. Parking seemed adequate, probably enough for around ten cars. The staff were approachable, efficient, and quick to help. Wi-Fi is available, but the connection kept dropping. When I checked, the speed was only 15 Mbps. Our Beach Front room had clean, comfortable queen beds and a sofa. It came with its own bathroom, towels, body soap, shampoo, and conditioner. There were two air conditioners and a fan. The little kitchen had a rice cooker, kettle, gas stove, fridge, hand soap, dish soap, pans, a pot, cutlery, cups, and plates. The water from the dispenser tasted odd and felt heavy, so I'd bring my own. We also found two cockroaches in the room. Out front there was a dipping pool, grill, tables, and chairs. The house had a gate, but stray dogs still came in. That didn't bother us much because we love dogs. At the beach, there were free huts for dining, a volleyball net and ball, and wooden swings near the shore. The beach itself wasn't very attractive. There was quite a bit of garbage, and the shoreline seemed to be declining, though only subtly. It looked safe for kids. Maybe because of the weather, the bay wasn't clear and the water was brown, but it was sandy rather than murky. The thing that really spoiled it for us was the noise. I understand karaoke is allowed until 10pm, but one family sang from about 3pm right through to 10pm. We couldn't relax or enjoy quiet time outside that evening. The place might have been good without that incident. I'd recommend it for a short family or friends' getaway, since it's accessible and the fees are reasonable. The beach isn't much to look at, and the resort doesn't offer many activities.
