Jamont Hotel

The room felt dated, and in the evening the internet was basically unusable. Maybe the more expensive rooms get a better connection, but I consider working internet a basic thing a hotel should provide. The hotel is in a good location and has a beautiful pool.

The location is handy for nearby beaches and local sights, and the hotel works well enough for a short, budget minded stay. The rooms are plain and functional, though the décor and facilities feel dated. Service was okay, but check-in and requests could be slow or uneven. It serves its purpose, but cleanliness, newer amenities, and general comfort could be better.

We stayed two nights, and I couldn't wait to leave. The pool looked moldy, and I saw the pool attendant throw bleach powder into it. Our suite cost 4,500 pesos, but there was no kettle or coffee. The hotel is very run down and not worth the price. I wouldn't bother staying here.

We spent four nights there and really didn't enjoy it. The room was tiny, with nowhere to hang a towel or put clothes, so we had to keep everything in our suitcase. They took a key deposit, but reception was shut when we left and we couldn't get it back. There was no fridge, so the drinking water from their reverse osmosis system, kept in large containers on the floors, was warm. On the second day, brown water came out of our taps. The staff felt pushy, though it seemed clear to me that the owner was pressuring them. This place cost more than the lovely resort we'd stayed at before, and the difference was like night and day. We won't come back.
