The women’s restroom could use some attention: a few stall doors wouldn’t close or lock properly. The restrooms were otherwise relatively clean, and we appreciated that. We stopped at Villa Elita on the way from Bessang Pass to San Fernando, La Union. It’s an easy, spacious place to pull into when you’re coming down from the highlands and want a break before the traffic in the next towns. We were a mixed group, with some wanting a full meal and others just a cold treat, and the menu worked for both. I especially liked the halo-halo after the long drive. It was refreshing in the heat, and the sweetened calamansi on top was new to me and interesting. We were walk-in diners and didn’t check in. A reliable roadside stop, with food that hit the spot and decent facilities.

Everything about this place was wonderful. It’s a lovely spot to stay near Amburayan River.

The service was poor from the moment we arrived. After handing over our key, staff didn’t explain where the room was, or ask if we needed help with our bags. The food was expensive and took a long time to come. We booked a Standard Room, but it was small, and the bed was small too. The worn doorknob and old, noisy AC didn’t help. Cockroaches crawled around when we turned on the lights, including on the bedside table. The tubular TV had to be switched on manually. We wouldn’t stay here again for an overnight visit, and wouldn’t recommend it to friends or relatives.

The hotel looks nice from outside, but once you get to the room, it didn’t feel like a place I wanted to sleep. It needs a full renovation. The room felt run-down, the shower was broken, and the TV didn’t work. There was a kettle but no complimentary coffee, and no hair dryer. I also found cockroaches in the bathroom. The food wasn’t good either. I ordered SINANGLAW, but there was hardly any meat, mostly broth with lots of onion leaves, and it was very soupy. This was our first and last stay, and I can’t recommend it to other travelers.

Parking was easy to access along the highway, and the staff were very polite and responsive to requests, high five to them. The room was too small for a couple, though, and the toilet had a foul smell. The AC had to be adjusted manually. The food tasted great and the specialty was good, but it was a bit pricey. Service was poor: they served dine-in food on paper plates, which felt like eating fishballs on the street. First time I’ve had a clubhouse sandwich on a paper plate 😅
