Casamara Garden Tagaytay

The house had a dusty, almost haunted feel, and could use more lights. Dust was all over the place, including on the furniture. The bedsheets, blankets, curtains, and sofa covers were stained, though they smelled pleasantly of fabric conditioner. The bathrooms may not suit anyone particular about cleanliness, and the main house needs a general clean and renovation. We were glad our stay was just one night. You get what you pay for.

We spent a couple of days here and used the venue to get ready for our wedding on Dec. 15. The caretakers were welcoming and easy to approach, helped with everything we needed, and kindly made room for last-minute additions to our rooms. We also met the owner, sir Raul, who was very kind. Our ground-floor cottage room faced the garden and was lovely to look at. The bed faced the window, so you woke up to a nice view with soft light coming through the curtains. It was damp, maybe because the weather was so cold, but smelled of fabric conditioner. The small bathroom was clean. We got clean towels, though they were old and a bit rough, plus a tiny, very thin soap and a small shampoo sachet we didn't use. The place is tucked away off the main road, reached by a narrow downhill street only wide enough for one vehicle. There was a roach in the room, and by morning the curtain was covered in black ants.

It was a very cozy place, but there's room for improvement. Some power outlets didn't work, and the screen door was faulty. There was no soap in the restrooms, and towels weren't provided unless you asked for them.
