Hotel Carlito Tagaytay

The buffet breakfast was decent, though the pancit didn’t look appetizing. It would also be nice if the pool were heated. Traffic and noise from outside were manageable. We especially enjoyed our Greek-style room on the 5th floor. The two rooms we had on the 3rd floor were also thoughtfully arranged and comfortable. The rooms, amenities, warm atmosphere, and views made for a really enjoyable visit in Tagaytay. The staff were attentive, friendly, and well-trained, almost like the personal butlers you’d expect at a luxury hotel. We’d recommend staying here and would love to come back.

Breakfast isn’t a buffet, but the food is good, with American and Filipino choices. If you can’t make it during breakfast hours, call ahead or during breakfast service to reserve a meal, and they’ll deliver it to your room later. Staff were very helpful, particularly at the restaurant. The basic amenities include a small family-friendly pool, gym, and rooftop deck with a nice lake view. We stayed in a spacious suite after our wedding. It had a huge bed, carpeted floors, a mini fridge, strong AC, and a well-designed bathroom with a tub and balcony. There’s an optional romantic setup with balloons, rose petals, and wine. They offered complimentary wine refills too, which we appreciated even though we only had one bottle. The tub looks partly out toward the lake, but at night people on the road may be able to see in if the blinds are open and the room lights are on. A couple of small hassles: the tub drain didn’t seal properly, so I plugged it with a coaster, and the less-used shower settings smelled rusty at first until I ran them briefly. The shower area could use a bigger shelf for toiletries, but it was otherwise clean and nicely designed. Hotel Cardito is easy to find on the Tagaytay–Talisay Road and good value. Being right on the main road means some traffic noise, especially in street-facing rooms, though it was manageable for us. Some rooms are advertised as lake view, but since the hotel is across the road from the lake, the view is partial and visible from the road. The blinds provide privacy if you keep them closed. The hotel felt relatively new, was clean, and smelled good. Good value for the price, and I’d still recommend it.

The buffet breakfast was good, especially the tapa and arroz caldo, and the hotel’s close to attractions and restaurants. The common areas and rooms look nice, and our room was spacious, clean, and had modern amenities.

We called reception before booking to check they could take us later that night, and they replied quickly. It turned into one of our best spontaneous short stays so far!
