The room wasn’t ready with all the basics when we checked in, and we had to keep asking for toilet tissue, a bathroom rug, a hair dryer, and ironing facilities. The rug they brought after I asked for one was a tiny piece, not enough to help prevent slipping while traveling with my toddler. Rooms should be checked and stocked before guests arrive, since repeatedly calling or going out to get necessities takes time and is inconvenient. The internet was extremely poor, practically unusable, despite being advertised on their page as “super fast internet.” That claim was misleading, and should be removed or updated until the problem is fixed. The hotel is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were accommodating and professional, and the location is handy for malls, restaurants, and coffee shops around the city. Tagaytay traffic at rush hour can make journeys longer, though. Breakfast was good, but more variety would make it more appealing, especially for foreign guests.

We only had a short stay while attending a wedding nearby, but it would have been nice to stay longer. The room was clean and we slept well, and we saw guests enjoying the pool. Before leaving, we had a filling buffet breakfast. The hotel looked surprisingly nice inside, since it’s hard to notice from the road. The guard helped me park and was pleasant, and the staff were attentive. When my daughter realized she’d forgotten cotton pads to remove her makeup, they brought some right away.

The hotel is nicely decorated, and the rooms have comfortable beds and plenty of space, though they could be cleaner and more nicely finished. I was expecting a hot tub, since we were assured by phone that it worked, but it wasn’t functioning. The water was only less cold, not warm. To feel even a little heat, I had to stay in the cold pool for a long time and then get straight into the tub. The pool itself was nice, just quite cold. I mentioned the problem at the front desk, but nothing changed.

The room we had was spacious and came with a TV, mini fridge, and hot and cold shower. They changed the sheets, bathrobes, towels, and even soap whenever we went out to see tourist spots. The downside was the room’s location beside the staff and kitchen area. It got noisy at night, with people going back and forth and what sounded like metal clanging in the kitchen. We stayed three nights starting December 5. The hotel and rooms were fine, and the staff were very accommodating. There’s a cafe and restaurant on site, and on our first night we ate at the Royal Palace Chinese Restaurant. I had the beef brisket, while my partner really enjoyed her lechon Macau. The pool and “jacuzzi” were usually available, as the water was quite cold and people swam in batches. We even had the pool area to ourselves for a while and plenty of time for photos. Breakfast space was limited, with fewer choices than at other hotels we’ve visited, but I liked their coffee and beef tapa. I’d suggest trying the tapa. The hotel is also near tourist spots, cafes, and restaurants, most about a 15-minute walk away.

The Family Deluxe room was large, with a huge modern bathroom, and that’s why I’m giving three stars. The stay was still very disappointing. WiFi was mostly absent in our room, even though we paid extra for internet, so the “super fast internet” claim is a joke. Breakfast ended at 9 AM, earlier than at pretty much every hotel I’ve stayed at, and it was disappointing, especially the notoriously bad coffee. I’d book without breakfast and go to a nearby coffee shop, like The Nest. Before check-in, the hotel took days to respond. They also tried to charge us PHP 6000 for a pick-up in Batangas, so I arranged a private car myself for much less. Check-in was mediocre: they handed over the key without walking us to the room. They barely provided toilet paper, but kept leaving toothbrush packs, so we ended up with 8 toothbrushes and 0 toilet paper. Odd priorities. They also called our room in the morning for no reason. Please only call for an emergency or a wake-up call I requested. The hotel also asks for a 2000 PHP security deposit, which seems quite high for no reason.
