Kew Hotel

The room had a toilet that wouldn’t flush, and the telephone was disconnected. I’m still wondering how guests are meant to reach customer service, smoke signals maybe? I arrived early, perhaps naively expecting a little flexibility because of the corporate account and nearly empty property. Instead, I learned at checkout that early check-in carried an extra charge. Nobody told me at check-in or gave me any kind of heads-up. They seem to follow policy strictly even when the lobby is practically empty, and “going the extra mile” clearly isn’t part of the training manual. If transparent communication, basic room maintenance, and a little hospitality matter to you, you may want to look elsewhere. This place seems content with the bare minimum.

I had a really uncomfortable stay at Kew Hotel. The toilet flush didn’t work, and the maintenance clearly needs attention. The AC was so loud I couldn’t sleep. Turning it off meant dealing with outside noise, and the room got incredibly hot and sweaty. I shouldn’t have to choose between sleeping and staying cool. I wouldn’t recommend staying here until these problems are fixed.

The food at the restaurant downstairs is almost inedible, and the security guards are the most disturbing part. From what I understand, they aren’t allowed to ask people coming through the door whether they’re staying at the hotel. That’s ridiculous. Why have guards who can’t even ask if someone is a guest? The hotel acts like it has security, but it doesn’t. That feels like a lie to everyone who stays here. This place is a total joke and doesn’t deserve one star.

I’ve booked this hotel twice in the last 2 months, and both stays have been consistent. When you pull into the parking spot, the security guard is quick to help, opens the door right away, and offers to carry your luggage. The hotel staff are welcoming too. I don’t know if it’s a rule, but most of them, if not all, greet you with good morning, afternoon, or evening as you pass each other.
