Matig-A Seaside Pensione

We stayed there last October, and the staff were so friendly. The rooms were comfortable and the location was right, within walking distance of the church, 7eleven, and plaza mayor in tagbilaran. I'd recommend this budget hotel to travelers on a tight budget.

For Php 900.00, I got a twin-bed room with a lovely, unobstructed view of Tagbilaran/Dauis Bay. Stepping onto the mini balcony felt like leaving the busy downtown area behind. I give it the best rating. In room B-21, the lights are dim and sometimes flicker, so they need replacing. There was no TV, which didn't bother me since I don't watch TV. The wifi was good, though the signal sometimes wandered, and the password is the same for each network available. The CR doorknob is rusty, but the shower and toilet work properly. The mirror on the door adds an interesting view inside the room.

The street view fooled me at first, this place is a hidden gem. You can see the water, and the owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and reasonably priced. There's an open-air room at the top where you can sit and enjoy the breeze, and guests get free drinking water. It's one of the few hotels I've stayed in in Philippines that provides hand soap.

A peaceful, quiet option in tagbilaran city, with nice views across the water to panglao and bq mall about a five-minute walk away. The rooms are clean, well maintained, and comfortable, though fairly basic. It's reasonably priced compared with the noisier city hotels. Recommended.
