It was great to have a fridge, microwave, and utensils to use, and the WiFi was fast enough for us to watch YouTube videos in HD on the TV. The room looked fresh and new, with a hot shower, full toiletries, and even pairs of slippers. The staff were kind and accommodating. For an affordable price, this is probably the best Oyo we’ve stayed at so far, and we’ll definitely return. Hope they keep the place well maintained! By the way, remember to bring Php 1,500 for the security deposit they require at check-in.

I didn’t feel safe at this run-down building in a Makati slum, and the room felt like a bad student flat. I was paying around $50 a night. After booking, several locals told me not to stay in the area, but I went to see the hotel anyway. I’d emailed to ask about leaving my bags and tried calling, but nobody answered either way. I explained my concerns to reception, refused to stay, and left after an hour. When my taxi driver arrived, he couldn’t believe I was in that area and called it a “slum.” The hotel refused a refund and said it was up to Agoda. Agoda said the hotel had to handle it. That’s standard Agoda trickery, and I lost $300 for nothing. Agoda censored my review, so I’m posting it here. I found a good AirBnb for the same price in a better area next to the Venice Mall. This place is in a bad area, costs too much, and they use dubious tactics to keep your money. My first experience of Manila left me with a bad feeling.

I’ve stayed here three times now and have had a wonderful time every visit. The staff are courteous and really accommodating. The clean suites have amenities on par with some 4 star hotels. It’s a hidden gem, and I’m looking forward to coming back.
