GV Hotels Talisay City

I stayed here in December 2016, but left after seeing the price jump during Sinulog. My girlfriend knew the man at check-in well, so I took into account that I might have been one of many customers she had brought in. If you're mainly here for business or sex, this may suit you. Otherwise, I'd look for somewhere nicer.

The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable, and the room was decent for the price. Still, water came through the shower and sink very slowly, there were no power sockets I could find, and the toilet had no tissue. My roadside room was noisy with passing motorcycles and cars, and the TV had only two channels. Check-in was easy, with a 200 deposit returned at checkout. You get what you pay for, so I wouldn't complain much. Fine for a short stay; for longer, I'd look for another hotel within budget.

For a practical business stay, GV Hotel may make sense, and the receptionist was really friendly. If you're after a luxury break with five-star service and amenities, I'd spend my money elsewhere. The standard room had no hot shower, the shower head barely worked, and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. There were no welcome toiletries, not even shampoo, just a quarter-inch piece of bath soap. The hotel sits right beside the road, so a misstep could put you in danger. Parents should keep a close eye on their children. There isn't food at the hotel, though malls across from GV offer food options. When I last checked in, the gates closed at 10 pm, so bring food before then. Ask the receptionist about the current rules to be safe.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and I found the hotel good value for the money. It's a basic, clean place in Talisay City, Cebu, with air conditioning, a private bathroom, and a TV. Being near transport hubs and tourist attractions is handy for exploring on a tight budget. It doesn't have the luxury features of a high-end hotel, but it offers comfortable accommodation for the price.
