Amorita Resort Bohol

On our second visit, Amorita Resort still felt like a little paradise. The relaxed atmosphere was just right, never too crowded or noisy, and we woke up to stunning views each morning. Our room was cozy, the temperature was perfect, and the bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get up. We also enjoyed the spa, a romantic dinner, and archery. Amorita hits different for a chill, romantic, or solo recharge trip in Bohol.

Breakfast at Saffron was a treat, and we're planning to stay again next time we're in Bohol. The room was huge, with a beautifully designed bathroom that added to the luxurious feel. Housekeeping refreshed it every day and kept it spotless and stocked. Everyone was warm, courteous, and happy to help. Prime was especially great from the airport pickup onward, and the concierge made our transfers and checkout easy and stress-free. My husband and I visited in March and had an amazing time.

We had a garden-view villa with our own pool, and also loved the two infinity pools. There was live music by the pool in the evenings, plus complimentary cocktails twice a week. Nearby shops and restaurants made the location walkable, while the resort itself had three restaurants. The breakfast buffet changed daily and stayed consistently good, and the tapas place we tried had fresh, delicious food. From the start, service was quick and everyone was kind and helpful. They spoke English well and remembered our names, which made us feel welcome. Thanks especially to Jessa, Prime, Ruth, Joan, and Marlan for looking after us. The private beach and free airport shuttle were handy too, though the shuttle is available if you book directly through the website. We stayed three nights and would definitely come back to Bohol.

Sunset is a highlight here. Though most of the property faces south, it extends past the beach enough to give a great west-facing view, and plenty of guests come out to watch it. The property is large, so expect a fair bit of walking between reception, breakfast, and your room. Parking for cars and scooters is ample, and beach activities include sea-kayaking. There's archery somewhere on the property too. Hennan is next door and nice, but much larger, without the same small boutique feel. The rooms lose a star for me because there were no drawers for unpacking clothes, though this is still a brilliant Bohol stay and a great choice by Alona beach. The resort sits by Alona beach, reached down a long side street that taxi and trike drivers know. From the ferry, expect about 45 minutes, around 500 peso by trike or 1,000 by taxi. The airport is about 15 minutes away. There's a short set of stairs straight down to Alone beach. Some reviews say they're a chore for older people, but they're few and not too steep for anyone mobile. The resort is right next to the beach, and the rooms are a good size with standard supplies like a stocked mini fridge, nice towels, body wash, shampoo, and welcome chocolate chip cookies. Staff are friendly and accommodating. There are daily two-for-one drinks at the reception bar during happy hour, and free cocktails from 4:30 to 5:30pm on Wednesdays and Fridays. The concierge can arrange lots of tours. For a standard group tour, booking with a beach vendor costs about half as much, though the hotel may be able to arrange something more bespoke. Laundry, motorcycle hire, tours, and massages are all within easy walking distance.
