Golden Palm Resort

The hotel sits in a peaceful, zen-like landscape, so you don’t hear the noise from the main St. It’s right in the center, just steps from the main stair and easy access to restaurants, Alona Beach, and a spa. Staff were friendly and helpful. They connected us with a private boat tour without taking commission, so we paid the boat and tour guide directly. Our ground-floor room faced the pool, which was perfect for jumping in to cool off.

We’ve just wrapped up a 5 day stay. Both pools are large and great for swimming, and the landscaping feels like an oasis. The only downside is the beach is about a 7 minute walk away. There are several good restaurants nearby, and both the room and staff were really nice. Our balcony was especially large and comfortable.

The mature landscaping is beautiful, and there are 2 pools. The rooms were clean and updated, and it’s family friendly. You can walk to everything at Alona beach, while still being away from the noisy clubs and cafes. It isn’t on the beach, and the unpaved access road might put you off, but this was a lovely stay and good value. I’d happily stay again.

The receptionists were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is near the main restaurants. But the road there was terrible, and we couldn’t roll our suitcases over it. The photos were misleading for us. When we arrived, the place felt very run down, the room and appliances were old, and the mattress was the worst I slept on during 3 weeks of travelling. There were huge spiders and webs on the ceiling along the way to our rooms. I wouldn’t recommend it.
