The AC was one of the biggest problems for us. We complained, but it never really got better. Every night of our 4 nights was hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable, and it was hard to get a good sleep. That was really disappointing for a hotel where you expect to be comfortable.

(Restaurant review) We ordered Pad Thai and grilled chicken, and both were really good, with large portions at a fair price for the area. I was quite hungry but still couldn’t finish my Pad Thai. I don’t usually leave reviews, but it seems the restaurant has improved since the experiences described by previous reviewers.

There’s live music every day until 23:00, and on Friday and Saturday it continues later into the night. For the final 3 minutes to the resort, you have to walk along the Beach Strip, so I’d recommend a backpack. Hayahay restaurant is just a few meters from the ocean, and you can eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner there. I only tried breakfast, which I can recommend, so I can’t speak to the lunch or dinner menus. The resort is right on Alona Beach’s main strip, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Our room was tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the team were very friendly and helped with anything we needed to know.

The Schnitzel was somehow okay, and at least the fries were decent. The rest of the food was awful, though. On a very windy day because of a Thyphoon, the restaurant was almost empty, yet our order took 40min. We ordered several dishes yesterday, but nothing else was nice, even though we were starving. The pizza seemed deeprozen from a supermarket, and I can buy one anywhere that’s more decent. The Spaghetti Carbonara was watery, Chop Suey tasted of vinegar, and the Pat Thai was an overcooked “thing” that wasn’t eatable. The bill was over 3'300 Pesos, a big price for that food. When we told them it wasn’t nice, they still wanted to charge us for Take-Away because we wanted to give it to some street kids. We packed everything in plastic bags and left. No apology, nothing. This was the worst experience in the Philippines so far, and the first and last time. Avoid this restaurant.

We’d settle in at Hayahay restaurant each evening, watch the sunset from the beachfront, and enjoy fresh seafood cooked to order with cold beers and great cocktails. The service was so friendly. Shout-out to Gerlyn!!
