The food at all the restaurants was fantastic, and we loved having the pools and beachfront right there. Everyone on staff was so welcoming and friendly. Thanks for the extra treats that made our wedding celebration feel even more special. We really appreciated them.

The breeze by the sea made UMA restaurant feel especially homey, and the food was something to look forward to. I loved the fish binacol, calamares, kinilaw, and all the other tempting choices. The blue water was soothing to look at, and the greenery was a sight to take in. We were greeted by friendly staff when I first visited with colleagues and officers from our organization. I'll definitely come back soon.

That farm visit was one of the most memorable parts of our trip, and we're still talking about it. The resort's excursions were also well organized and made exploring the area easier without having to plan everything ourselves. We had a wonderful honeymoon at South Palms Resort. Bryan, the head concierge, and RJ went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Our swim-up room was a dream, with a patio that let us step straight into the pool. It was clean, the products were great, and housekeeping was meticulous. The food was outstanding, especially the breakfast buffet, one of the best we've had. Between the setting, attentive staff, food, and experiences, it was a perfect place to celebrate the start of our marriage. We'd love to come back.

UMA Restaurant was the one clear highlight for me, with excellent food and service. Most of the staff I met were polite, and the seaside resort looks new and appealing. Still, this was a deeply disappointing stay, especially as a long-time Accor elite member. After more than a decade with the program, including nine years at Platinum, I was moved down to Gold this year for traveling less. This is the only negative review I've written for an Accor property. I've stayed at countless Accor hotels across APAC and even met and spoken with former Vice President Michael Issenberg. For its price range, South Plams was by far my worst experience. I had planned several days in Bohol and set aside one night in Panglao specifically for this resort, a choice I regret. At check-in, I wasn't offered an upgrade, although several superior rooms appeared available for sale online. The front desk agent repeatedly stressed that I had to leave by 12:00 PM the next day, which made me uncomfortable. When I politely asked about a late checkout, she looked at her computer briefly and said no because of a wedding and guests arriving early. The next day, though, the same room type I had stayed in was still listed online. After check-in, I expected someone to show me to my room, as I consider that a basic part of service at a resort presenting itself as luxury. Instead, the agent just asked whether I needed help with a buggy. Then, after I'd been checked in for more than an hour and returned from the restaurant around 4:00 PM, my luggage still hadn't arrived. I'd left it with the concierge on arrival, expecting delivery, but had to go back to the desk myself. Staff took some time to find and bring the bags. I shouldn't have had to chase this. I left early in the morning feeling very disappointed. Elite members seem to be treated perfunctorily, with little effort to maintain appearances and poor attention to detail. I probably won't return to this island.
