The seaside setting is nice, but I wouldn’t return. The resort is very remote, with no realistic places to eat outside. Meals cost around 500 PHP for small dishes, which is expensive for the Philippines, though the food was often tasty. We asked for water twice and still didn’t get enough, so we had to drive an hour to find a supermarket with bottled water. The island hopping was advertised as private, but the trip wasn’t private even though we were charged close to the private rate. There was almost no shade on the boat under the burning sun, and we came back badly sunburned. No one followed up or asked how it went. The staff are friendly, but seemed noticeably more attentive once tipping started. The rooms are acceptable but cheaply built, and the air conditioning doesn’t work properly.

We loved the seclusion, food, and drinks, and being able to charge everything to a card at the end was handy if you don’t want to carry much cash. The resort has a little beach to explore, plus paddle boards and snorkeling. Even on a rainy day, there was enough covered space to sit out and enjoy the quiet or swim in the rain. After a night in Manila, we transferred to El Nido. Before we arrived, the resort arranged a van to Taytay, about a 1 hour 30 minute drive from the airport. The roads and transport were unlike anything I’d experienced, so be prepared. When we got there, the staff welcomed us with a refreshing drink and showed us around the property and our room. The room was great, very clean, and air-conditioned. The food was top notch, and we ate every meal there during our 4 days.

The place is super private, and everyone was accommodating. They had what we needed, from food and bathroom essentials to slippers, and they handled our requests at breakfast. The staff were very attentive, always smiling, and made us feel welcome. The owner was often around and personally checked in with guests, which we appreciated. They also offer private tours and a driver who can take you to El Nido town. We’re looking forward to returning, hopefully soon! And try their chicken coconut with malunggay, it’s chef’s kiss. Thanks for the warm hospitality!

The sounds of nature and the privacy here were hard to match. We recommend villa no. 3 with its private pool. Its photos are included in the advance. We planned to stay just one night, but ended up staying four. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the talented chef spoiled us every day. This was the most wonderful place we found on the entire island of Palawan.

The villas have a great style, and there’s a roof window where you can look at the stars. But the place seems a bit run down. The pool and sunbeds don’t quite fit the rooms’ style, and the sunbed cushions need to be thicker. There’s no teal beach. At 250 Eur, it’s too expensive for a night or two on the road, and the location is far from everything. Maybe that’s why nobody stays there. It has good potential, though.
