Hotel Joselina

The room felt dated, and its compact layout came with a small double bed.

The room wasn't too small, and Robinson's mall is nearby, but there were several downsides. It sits beside a gas station and main road, so it's loud, and the outside-facing window looks onto the building's front corridor, meaning the room isn't completely dark at night. Staff were only somewhat friendly. The online rate is much cheaper, so it's better to pay online than at the hotel. They mean two single beds when they say “twinbed.” The bed's broad wooden frame is jagged in places and sticks out between the bathroom door and the room. I hit my shin on it and started bleeding, though maybe that's just me. The blinds felt grimy and were taped, or had once been taped, to the roller that holds them. Touch them and they might fall down.

The location worked well for us because it was close to the exam venue. We arrived to find no hangers or slippers ready in our deluxe room, and there was a cobweb on the ceiling, so we figured the room might not have been checked before we got there. As for the staff, they were only somewhat friendly. We came in without getting a single smile. Maybe I expected too much from the customer service. After grocery shopping, we carried our bags in and saw the staff chatting in the lounge. They watched us push the doors open with our bodies and didn't offer to help, though we could still hold the paper bags and use our hands.

It’s okay for the price, just don’t expect too much.
