Hotel Veneto De Vigan - Annex

I’d come back. It’s a simple, efficient hotel near calle Crisologo, where you can get a taste of vintage life. The rooms aren’t especially big, but they have what you need, and I liked how the lighting made mine feel cleaner and more spacious. On my business trip, they kept me updated about my reservation, first when I called and then when they called me. Check-in guidance was helpful, service was quick, and breakfast staff worked efficiently in a clean, tidy dining area. They even brought me a mango slice for dessert without me asking, a generous touch.

This place combines a vintage feel with modern amenities. It used to be a house, built in 1740, and is considered one of Vigan’s oldest. Calle Crislogo is barely two blocks away, Plaza Salcedo is walkable, and there’s a supermarket nearby. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. My only issue was the window AC in one room: it sat level with the bed, right in the middle, and only had low or high cool and fan settings, with no temperature control. I’d still recommend it if you’re after an old-style hotel with modern comforts.

It’s an authentic old-style building, with informational placards about the site’s history. Some furnishings and decor appear to be original, so they come with quirks like squeaky floorboards; modern touches such as AC have been added too. Our room was clean and tidy, the service was helpful and kind, and the hotel is very close to the central plaza.

We slept well after the long drive from Manila, thanks to the comfortable bed and cool AC. The creaky wooden boards may not suit everyone, but they add to the old-world character. There was an electric kettle, instant coffee, and free water, a thoughtful extra that some nearby 3-star hotels don’t include by default. The ground-floor restaurant felt cozy and breakfast was worth mentioning. It’s a charming 2-star place near Calle Crisologo and several good restaurants, with strong value for the price. Don’t expect 4-star luxury, but if you want character without spending much, it’s a solid choice.
