Pacific Waves Resort

The Filipino food was authentic, and I really enjoyed it. There’s a good-sized pool, and the rooms are spacious with nice views. The garden is especially well planned and looked after. The staff were polite and caring, and you can tell the place was thoughtfully built. A very good experience.

The third floor was so quiet that it felt a little eerie to me at times. That may just be my own impression, though, and if you want a peaceful setting, you might like it. There was construction beside the pool during my stay, but it was manageable, and the pool itself was simple but fine. Staff were exceptionally kind, check-in and check-out went smoothly, and the food arrived quickly. The food was simple and tasty.

The night swim was unsettling. An electrical problem left the pool and area around it completely dark, while staff shouted back and forth as they tried to fix it. That ruined the chance to relax, and nobody apologized. It made me wonder why basic equipment like walkie-talkies wasn’t available. One of the resort’s two pools was also being renovated while we were there, and we hadn’t been told ahead of time. The place looks large at first, but it really isn’t. It might work as an event venue, but for a quiet family getaway I’d choose somewhere else.

The place has a quiet, nature-filled feel, and the breakfast was simple but delicious. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, and check-in through check-out was easy. I’d have liked a heated pool because the water was quite cold while we were there. I only just found this place, but I’d definitely return. Thank you!
