Winzelle Suites

Our stay was pleasant, and we'd come back if we have an errand nearby. For two people, we booked a single bed for Php. 1,600, including breakfast. The receptionist looked after us well even though we were haggard after walking for 40 minutes to get there. The elevator was nice and polished. The room suited a short stay. The bed was big enough for both of us, the air conditioning worked well, and there was a table for two. It also had a flat-screen cable TV, cabinets for our things, and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was clean and had running water. Jollibee is close by, with a mall and grocery store across the way. Breakfast was okay.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay. The location was just right, close to SM City, fast-food places, and everything we needed. The room was comfortable and really clean, breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Booking was easy from the start. Thanks for making the stay so nice!

There's no designated parking, which was inconvenient. The bathroom was a letdown too: the showerhead had only four tiny holes, so rinsing off was difficult. The bedding and pillowcases didn't smell fresh. An overpowering, unpleasant odor hit me as soon as I entered the lobby. I couldn't identify it, but it continued in the elevator, along the corridor, and into the room. It seemed as if guests had spat on the walls or curtains, adding to the foul smell. With all that, I'd give the hotel 3 out of 10. The stay fell well short of what I expected, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The location in the city is handy for a backpacker, with nearby attractions easy to reach. The price was cheap, but the rooms weren't clean enough for me, and the amenities felt lacking. My towel smelled odd, and the linens looked worn and unkempt. The breakfast area was dark and cramped; the food was adequate, nothing special. Expect the bare minimum. The elevator was out for my entire stay, so hauling luggage up several flights was quite a workout. There was also a persistent, uninviting smell in the hallways that made the place feel neglected. The front desk staff were okay but only minimally friendly. The security guard and room attendant were satisfactory too, though the place didn't feel welcoming. I wouldn't recommend it for families, since the general environment didn't seem particularly accommodating or safe. It was advertised as a 2-star hotel, and the stay matched those low expectations. If you're a backpacker who puts price first and isn't too concerned about cleanliness or quality, it might do. For a comfortable, clean stay, I'd look elsewhere.
