UMA Hotel and Residences

The buffet was a letdown, especially for the price. There weren't many dishes to choose from compared with other buffets we've tried, and the air conditioning by our table wasn't on, so it was hot where we sat. A staff member mistakenly thought my mother had finished and tried to take her plate. He seemed new, so I let that one go; otherwise the staff were okay. I also noticed a slight sewage smell near reception as soon as we arrived, and I think the plumbing may have been broken. It was a disappointing way to end Sunday.

I stayed two nights and had a good time. The hotel was clean and had everything I needed, and the view of Mount Isarog from the seventh floor was amazing. It felt high tech and up to date. I did expect the TV to have cable channels I could watch, but I understand that's becoming less common.

#placesocomfy! After a long drive, this was a great place to stay in central Naga City. I liked the room, the bed, and the breakfast buffet food. I arrived at midnight, and the staff were attentive and friendly. There was plenty of parking too, so no need to worry about that.

I had a bad experience before at the hotel's cafe, panata, over how a staff member handled my payment. I understand that smaller bills are easier, but it shouldn't be up to the customer to solve a change shortage. She asked me to find change at other businesses, which felt unprofessional. Luckily I remembered I had a card, so I offered to pay that way. The way the staff member reacted made the situation worse. I had cash to pay, but she seemed unwilling to deal with the inconvenience herself. The hotel should handle payment issues instead of passing them to customers, and customers should be treated equally no matter how much they order.
